Where to Go Sledding in Flagstaff, Arizona
Let’s Go Play in the Snow: Tubing at Flagstaff Snow Park
The most popular spot for family fun in the snow is in Flagstaff. You can go snow tubing at the Flagstaff Snow Park located within Fort Tuthill County Park.
There are five designated tubing runs and one kiddie run. Your ticket includes a snow tube rental (except for limited access tickets), so you don’t have to bring any special equipment.
Dress warm and have fun tubing down the hills. There are also plenty of areas to make a snowman, snow angels or just play in the snow.
If you are going to plan on tubing all day this is a great spot to do so. Do not bring sleds as they are not allowed. They have portable restrooms and several food trucks available. Pets are not allowed. Tickets must be purchased ahead of time please visit Flagstaff Snow Park’s website.
How to Get to Flagstaff Snow Park
If you’re traveling from Phoenix up I-17 take exit 337 and turn left on John Wesley Powell Blvd. This will take you over I-17 and turns into Fairgrounds road. Where to go Sledding in Arizona: Oak Hill Snow Area in Williams
If you want to try out your new sled then head to Oak Hill Snow Area just off of historic route 66 in Williams. There are two sledding hills here. One is long and steep. The shorter run is popular with the little kids.
There are restrooms and picnic tables here. Parking is limited to the first 20-25 cars. Parking along the highway is not allowed.
How to get to Oak Hill Snow Area
To get to Oak Hill Snow area from Phoenix take I-17 north to Flagstaff and then I-40 West towards Williams. Take exit 178 and make a right on North Parks road. Then take a left on Historic Route 66 for four miles. Oak Hill Snow area is on your left just after you cross over Sherwood Forest Road.

Where to Ski and Snowboard in Arizona
The most popular spot to ski and snowboard in Arizona is at Arizona Snowbowl in Flagstaff.
Snowbowl has eight ski lifts and more than 50 trails and runs. There are plenty of opportunities to enjoy the snow whether you are a beginner skier/snowboarder or an advanced skier/snowboarder. The highest ski lift at Snowbowl is at 11,500 feet. The longest run is two miles.
This place is packed during the holiday season, so purchase tickets in advance. In the summer this is a great place to hike or take a scenic gondola ride. Visit in the fall to see all the leaves change. You cannot go sledding/tubing at Snowbowl
How to get to Arizona Snowbowl
Arizona Snowbowl is a three hour drive from Phoenix. It’s proximity to Phoenix is why it is the Valley’s favorite place for skiing and snowboarding. Arizona Snowbowl is 7 miles north of Flagstaff on Highway 180, 7 miles to ski slopes on Snowbowl Road.
Flagstaff Nordic Village
Those who enjoy cross country skiing and snowshoeing head out to the Nordic Center in Flagstaff. Over 25 miles of groomed snow trails through the tall Pines, there are more than 10 different trails to choose from.
Ski rentals and instruction for both adults and children are available. Lodging is also available. You cannot go sledding or tubing at Nordic Village.

Sunrise Ski Park: Skiing, Snowboarding & Tubing
Sunrise Ski Park is the largest ski area in Arizona. It is located in the beautiful White Mountains.
Sunrise offers 8 ski lifts that cover three mountains. This ski park has 65 runs and snowboarding trails, 13 miles of trails for cross country skiers, a tubing hill for the kids.
Sunrise park is beautiful with activities year round, skiing, tubing, horseback riding, sleigh rides, hiking, fishing. This area is really beautiful. Lodging is available as well.
Mt. Lemmon Ski Valley Southern Arizona

How to Get to Mt. Lemmon Ski Valley
From Tucson: Take the Catalina Highway off Tanque Verde Road in Tucson. Drive 4.2 miles to the Forest boundary and continue 26 miles to the Ski Valley turnoff. This is a really pretty drive, but it is slow because of all the winding roads. 4×4 or snow chains are necessary in heavy snowfalls.
