Papago Park is also home to three lakes with a breathtaking backdrop of palms and mountains. You can easily relax here watching the geese and ducks. There are many spots to have a picnic, hike or just relax.
From the pond you have a nice view of the Hole-in-the-Rock trail.
Hiking Papago Park: Hole in the Rock Trail
A terrific place to hike with young children in Phoenix is the Hole in the Rock Trail because it is such an easy hike with a nice reward at the end.
The path is dirt and can easily be hiked by just about anyone. It will start off as a a gravel path and then will change to stairs.
This short hike gives you incredible views of the surrounding desert and city. Kids will love the cave like atmosphere at the top.
The view of the city is well worth the short hike. Papago Park has some of the coolest rock formations and sandstone buttes in the area.
At the top of this short hike you are rewarded with great desert and city views.
