9 Reasons to Visit Myrtle Beach
A long time ago we went to Myrtle Beach and had so much fun we wanted to return. Nestled along the South Carolina coastline, Myrtle Beach beckons with its miles of pristine sandy shores and an array of activities that extend beyond the typical beach experience.
Where is Myrtle Beach?
Myrtle Beach is a coastal town in South Carolina. It is about 75 south of Wilmington, North Carolina and just under 100 miles north of Charleston, South Carolina.
Best Time To Visit Myrtle Beach
We visited Myrtle Beach in June both times we visited. If you want to spend time in the water summer is a great time to visit. Spring is a popular time to visit Myrtle Beach. The weather is usually in the 70’s and many vacation here during Spring Break.
How to Get Around Myrtle Beach
- Book a Flight to Myrtle Beach: The Myrtle Beach International Airport is about two miles from the Atlantic Ocean. You can easily take a ride share or shuttle from the airport to your hotel.
- Rent a Car in Myrtle Beach: If you’re not leaving the Myrtle Beach area you may not need to rent a car. However if you want to leisurely explore the 60 miles of unending beaches you may want a car.

If I was likening Myrtle Beach to a book, it is a fun summer read. Beautiful beaches and lots of fun touristy stuff to do.

More than 60 miles of beach is what attracts millions of people to Myrtle Beach. It is definitely what attracted us to visit the city.

The Boardwalk and Promenade are the city’s bustling hub of activity centers. , it offers not just breathtaking ocean views but also an array of shops, restaurants, and amusements. Take a leisurely stroll, grab a bite, or take a ride on the iconic SkyWheel for a panoramic view of the coastline. The Boardwalk is just over a mile long from the 14th Avenue to 2nd Avenue Myrtle Beach Piers.

Just a mile and a half from the beach is a a sprawling 350-acre entertainment center. Set around the man-made Lake Broadway, Broadway at the Beach is a haven of kid-friendly fun.
Broadway at the Beach is a haven of kid-friendly fun. The attractions include Ripley’s Aquarium, where you can walk through a tunnel surrounded by sharks, and WonderWorks, an amusement park for the mind. For shopping there is everything from trendy boutiques to souvenir shops.
Seafood
If you love seafood, you’re in luck. Myrtle Beach has lots of seafood restaurants and many have all-you-can-eat crab legs.
