Exploring the Library of Congress
In my humble opinion, the Library of Congress is the most beautiful building in Washington D.C. I love books and literature, so this was a must see for me. Even if you do not care for books, stop in just to see the inside of the building. It is visually stunning and heavily ornate in an Italian Renaissance-style. This building was opened in 1897.

For a fee you can purchase an annual America the Beautiful Pass card. This card will allow access into all National Parks within the United States. In addition, it gives you admission to National Monuments and some historic sites.

I love to go hiking on New Years day. Getting outside in nature is a great way to start the new year, especially since the weather in Arizona is pretty nice this time of year. This year Winston and I went to Lookout Mountain for a quick hike. This is a great urban Phoenix hike.
