How to Avoid the Crowds in Southern California
One of our favorite areas in southern California are the cities between Los Angeles and San Diego. San Clemente, San Juan Capistano and Dana Beach are relaxing areas to spend some time in because there are not as many tourists. San Clemente is about 60 miles to Los Angeles and to San Diego. Last time we visited we stayed in downtown San Clemente, so we could walk to the downtown for shopping, restaurants and to the beach.

If you are looking to capture the old flavor of San Diego, California visit Heritage Park and Old Town to see historic San Diego. See where the original city began. We had Uber drop us off in front of the Whaley House and then walked throughout the area. You’ll definitely need the greater part of a day to explore this area.
