So many choices in Las Vegas. You actually have thousands of choices. It can be almost overwhelming. It is also a chance to try out a new place each time you visit.

Alcohol is expensive in Las Vegas. Besides refraining from drinking , there are a couple of things to reduce the cost of alcohol.
If you are going to gamble, don’t buy drinks right before you go to the casino because you can get free drinks while gambling. Just don’t forget to tip your server.
Get Your Drink On!
We have found the drinks purchased on Fremont Street tend to be heavier pours. If you like slushie drinks, Fat Tuesdays is a good deal on drinks. Save your cup and you can get discounted refills at more than a half-dozen Fat Tuesdays up and down the strip.
Yummy Food – Where to Find Great Eats in Vegas
There is no shortage of restaurants in Las Vegas and it is easy to spend a lot of money trying out all the different places.
Your tastes may be different than ours, but we have enjoyed eating at the following places in Vegas:
- Earl of Sandwich – Quick, inexpensive place for great sandwiches.
- La Creperie – this was our go to place for crepes when we visited Las Vegas. Sadly, it closed in 2024.
- Capo’s Restaurant and Speakeasy– cool speakeasy atmosphere and the food is good too.
- Triple George Grill – nice restaurant near Fremont Street. Our family enjoyed the atmosphere and food.
- Nacho Daddy – every kind of nacho you can think of. Drunk or sober, nachos are amazing and the prices won’t break the bank.
- Looking for a great burger? Try Wahlburgers or Gordon Ramsey Burger.
- Marrakech Mediterranean Restaurant – If you’re looking for a unique experience this restaurant delivers. A Mediterranean restaurant with belly dancers and a 6 course meal.
- Texas de Brazil – For carnivore lovers. We have dined here every time we visit Vegas. This is our favorite Brazilian restaurant and there isn’t one in Phoenix.
- Mon Ami Gabi is the the best restaurant I’ve dined at in Las Vegas and in my top restaurants I’ve ever dined at. The food and the experience was superb. Make reservations, so you can sit out with a view of the Bellagio fountains. Highly recommend the baked goat cheese as a Hors d’oeuvres.
- The Buffet at the Wynn was the best seafood and breakfast buffet we’ve eaten at in Las Vegas. The atmosphere is fun and colorful too.
Tips on Drinking and Eating out in Vegas
Make reservations. I don’t care if it is a Tuesday. If the restaurant is popular and you will be really disappointed if you can’t go there make a reservation.
Bring or purchase a plastic cup to drink out of. It is legal to drink alcohol while walking on the Vegas strip and on Fremont Street, however you are not allowed to drink out of glass containers, straight from the bottle and on Fremont Street no aluminum cans. Laws can change so please do your own due diligence.
Most of the hotels do not have a refrigerator, so to save money it is a good idea to have a small cooler you can store mixer unless you want to pay $6 for a juice in the hotel store.
