Senoia Georgia – The Walking Dead
A Walking Dead fan? My daughter loves the show, so as a day trip from Atlanta we visited the historical town of Senoia, Georgia. I will admit I did not expect much from this excursion. We found Senoia absolutely charming and the people genuinely kind and helpful.
If you love exploring little towns and/or are a fan of AMC’s The Walking Dead show you will enjoy a visit to Senoia.

Walking Dead Fans Will Love Senoia Georgia
Drive about an hour south of Atlanta you are transported to a small town with brick paved sidewalks. This is also where they film the popular zombie show, The Walking Dead.
Things to See and Do
Explore downtown Senoia. They have brick paved sidewalks and is home to cute cafes and shops. Senoia is a popular place to film movies and they have Hollywood squares in the sidewalk, similar to Hollywood.
Wake up with a cup of coffee at the Waking Dead Coffee Shop. Visit The Woodbury Shoppe. They are very friendly and can help you find the perfect gift for The Walking Dead fans.
The Walking Dead museum, located in the lower level of the Woodbury Shoppe. Woodbury Shoppe is a small one-room museum dedicated to the show.
See the town of Alexandria
Alexandria is actually a real subdivision located a few blocks from downtown Senoia. All residents of the subdivision must sign off and agree that their neighborhood will be filmed. The subdivision is surrounded by a fence and the entrance is blocked off by security. You are not allowed to drive or walk through the subdivision, you can however view from outside of the fence.
The railroad tracks used in the filming of The Walking Dead are located near the downtown area.
Grab a bite to eat at Nic & Norman’s. Norman Reedus, or Daryl on the show, owns a cool restaraunt in downtown Senoia. The food was good too.
Just Outside of Senoia Georgia
Drive a few miles outside of Senoia to Sharpsburg, GA. Here you can view the pharmacy and the general store used in the filming of The Walking Dead. You cannot go inside the buildings. There is not much to see here except for the outside of the buildings. If you’re a fan of the show it is still worth the stop.
